TreeKeepers is Trees Atlanta’s longest running education program. This program trains volunteers to become a volunteer leader for small groups at our volunteer projects. TreeKeepers work along side staff coordinators, but some TreeKeepers advance further to organize and lead their own community projects.
Classes cover a breadth of topics including Atlanta’s tree canopy cover, how trees affect our climate, tree health, invasive plants, tree identification and more. After you take the course, you can become a Certified TreeKeeper by completing 24 volunteer hours in a leadership role. Some scholarships are available if applied for by May 15th. Class cost is $120 per person. Classes meet for seven consecutive Saturdays, 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.
